Some of the most popular Acadian dishes in Chéticamp are fricot (a chicken, beef or wild game soup with potatoes and salted spring onions), meat pie and chiard (a simple stew of meat, potatoes and root vegetables).

"Knowing you need to be self sufficient. No access to city conveniences. Definitely needing a vehicle. Winter driving through the mountains for city access for medical/ dental and vet services."
